Its not a surprise that there is oil in The Gambia and there are articles
in the Gambia-l archives from a magazine called Upstream about oil
prospects. Just search for "Gambian oil prospects" as the subject in the

This is indeed good news and I pray to Allah (SWT) that it doesn't bring us
misfortune like countries that are rich with natural resources and yet the
people are faced with vast poverty and civil wars because of greedy rulers.
