Wallidan opens three points lead
Defending champions Wallidan consolidated their lead in the national league,
stretching to three points away from joint second placed Hawks and Bakau
United.
The Blue boys returned from the season’s break to beat GFA 1-0 Sunday,
rounding up the tenth week of play in which the big teams (except Hawks)
failed to impress.
The biggest victim was real de Banjul, who missed the chance to frog leap to
the top Saturday by going forwn 0-1 to daring side Bakau United. That
leaves them at their 15 points behind Hawks and United Bakaus erstwhile
giant killers Steve biko and Starlight settled for goalless draw Thursday,
leaving Wallidan to feast in their misfortunes. The Blue Boys read things
accordingly and beat Ports 1-0 to score 20 points. The surprised
beneficiaries are Gamtel Fc which beat veterans, Flamemins 2 -0
