This message has been cross-posted to a number of listservs. I
apologize in advance if you've seen it more than once:

Universal Access Electronic Resources in Libraries is now available
through ALA Editions.

Can people with disabilities access the electronic information resources
you make available to your other patrons? The Americans with
Disabilities Act stipulates that they should.

Recent court decisions affirm that libraries must proactively and
deliberately plan for accessibility to electronic resources. Universal
Access: Electronic Resources in Libraries is a turn-key solution for
training library staff and volunteers to become more aware of the
issues, needs and concerns of people with disabilities in accessing
electronic resources. The materials are easily customized for
presentations to a variety of constituencies and include:

        Sample presentation script
        Videotape with two presentations
        Reproducible camera-ready handouts to accompany
presentation
        Overhead transparency templates

Price includes permission to reproduce these materials for non
commercial, educational purposes with proper credit to the source,

Funded by the Telecommunications Funding Partnership and the National
Science Foundation, Universal Access was developed by authors at
the University of Washington with the support of Computing &
Communications, DO-IT (Disabilities, Opportunities, Internetworking &
Technology) and the University Libraries.
