Please mark your calendars:

African Association of Madison, Inc will have its Second Quarterly General
Meeting on Saturday, June 27 at the Mills Street Neighborhood Center
located at 29 S Mills Street. The meeting will start promptly at 5:00 p.m.

The agenda will include updates from the Festival Planning & Implementation
Committee on the continuing plans and preparations towards AFRICA FEST '98
at the Monona Terrace on Saturday, August 22. Come here updates on funds
raised so far including the latest $3000 from The Evjue Foundation, and
share your comments and insights on the list of exciting activities lined
up for the festival. Also catch up with the details on the big fund-raiser
set for July 11.

Remember, the Activities Sub-Committee is still looking for acts from all
over Africa. If you know any activity, such as a dance, a song, a craft,
etc., that you will like to demonstrate or display at AFRICA FEST '98,
please join the rehearsals every Saturday at noon at the University United
Methodist Church, 1127 University Avenue. The children's dance troupe for
example, is looking for dances from all over Africa to learn and perform at
the festival. Do not wait till a week to August 22 or after AFRICA FEST
'98 to complain about the lack of this or that at the festival. Bring your
ideas to the general meeting.

Also, if you know of any good African cultural acts, groups or performers
in the Midwest region, please let the Activities Sub-Committee know about
it.
