Since you've asked for more suggestions...
I used to have random locking up, "blue screen of death" and occasional
reboots. The first time I had the problem, it turned out to be a cd-RW
drive that was on it's way out. The second time, it was due to having
my DVD and CD-RW drives on the same connector. I obtained a PCI ATA-100
controller card and moved the DVD on to that. So now, I have my HD on
IDE-0 (on the m/b) and my CD-RW on IDE-1 (on the m/b) and my DVD is
connected to the controller card. No problems since I set it up that way :)
