An even simpler solution uses a hub, no router required. A 5-port hub
has one input for the cable/DSL, and the other 4 take RJ45 plugs running
from NIC cards in the independent computers through Cat5 cable. No
router required. Broadband access is shared transparently, and simple
MS network setup from the Control Panel will enable sharing of files and
printers. Just define a common workgroup name, then independent names
for the computers, and Network Neighborhood will display shared folders
to all computers.
