What kind of CD are you using? Did you change the cable or controller?

Importance: High
I just received this old system from a friend of mine and they obviously
tried to replace the CD ROM with a non Compaq brand. Upon boot up the
POST is OK then I receive two short beeps, a pause and two additional
short beeps followed by these error messages 1155 System Board Comm Port
Address Assignment Conflict 601 Diskette Controller Error 611 Primary
Floppy Port Address Assignment Conflict Then a flashing cursor. No other
activity at all. Any suggestions please?
