Thanks to all of you for responding to my request for ideas. I asked
for ideas for making a GF cracker crumb crust for a pie.
Some people use a GF cereal such as GF cornflakes or rice cereal and
crush the cereal then proceed as with a regular graham cracker crust.
One person suggested using Van’s GF waffles and toasting them. Once
they are dried from the toasting they can be processed into crumbs and
used for crumb crust.
Many people suggested using Bette Hagman’s graham cracker recipe then
crushing those for the crust. Or Bette Hagman’s cheese crackers. Or
Mi-Del GF animal crackers. One person suggested just using any leftover
GF crumbs from various sources. Bette’s dream pastry recipe was
suggested also. Mesa Sunrise Cereal or Pamela’s ginger cookies.
Another person suggested checking website www.allrecipes.com
<http://www.allrecipes.com/> .
Then there was a suggestion to use Pamela’s pecan cookies or Kingsmill
shortbread cookies. Also Ener-G vanilla cookies or ginger snaps.
Some people use ground nuts (almonds or pecans were suggested) but be
sure to grease the pie plate before putting the nuts in.
Evidently Kinnikinnik (sp) carries GF graham crumbs and graham style
crackers.
Thank you all so much for your ideas.
