My daughter has Hashimoto's disease and a low positive ANA. Is a positive ANA
(nucleolar pattern) consistent with Hashimoto's disease, or could she have
some other problem going on in addition to the Hashimoto's?
Could you explain what a low positive ANA means? I did a quick seach and saw
references to polymyositis, connective tissue diseases, and sclerosis. The
thyroid when low, which is what Hashimoto's will cause, can affect almost any
body system and cause all kinds of trouble, some recognized by doctors,
others not except by a few who really understand thyroid problems.
IF you tell us what it indicates, we can probably tell you if we know of a
relationship to Hashimoto's or hypothyroidism.
