Can Timed Release T3 be prescribed in the US? Yes. Actually, I told my
local doctor what to prescribe. First I called around to compounding
pharmacies in the area until I found one that had the recipe book. The
recipe can be obtained from Dr. Wilson. The pharmacist can go to the
Internet site for >>wilsonsthyroidsyndrome.com

One thing I forgot to tell the pharmacist. The startup package has several
doses in 7.5 mcg increments up to 45, I think. Then you can combine the
amounts until you get what you need. (The pharmacy near Dr. Michael is used
to doing this, and each dose was a different color.) This time I ordered
37.5 and 7.5 doses. I did not mention putting them in different color
capsules. So the batches I picked up had all the same colors.

For those happy on straight T4 (Synthryoid, Levathroid, etc.) or on Armour,
which has some T3, don't change as long as it works for you.

But for those of us who need the T3, if a lot of us insist on and receive
Timed Release T3 and we start feeling a lot better, maybe the pharmacists
will notice and do something to make it more available. Right now it is
expensive unless insurance covers it. (The pharmacy I found was on my
insurance plan).
