Not sleeping is another problem I experience. I have not had a decent
night sleep in over a year. In my case I think it is due to inactivity. I
was forced off on disability due to a severe knee injury gone bad. I used
to be close to a work-a-holic and active in some sports.
I think the
inactivity and the emotional end of that has contributed to this insomnia.

The naturopathic doctor recommended taking the thyroid supplement in the
morning, in case it contributed to the insomnia. With playing around with
times I'd take it in the morning, I discovered that if I take it any before
noon, I'm out like a light by 7pm. I'll sleep then for 2 - 3 hours, then
that's it for a while. If I take the thyroid at around noon, I'll be able
to keep going longer.

I had not heard of 'Thyroid'. That is definitely worth considering! I
have not been able to find information on it as yet, but I can ask a
doctor. The MD's I've spoken to (primarily specialists for the leg problem)
are dead set against the natural thyroid medication a
nd want me to
start "treating the thyroid properly"). So there is some preasure for me
to change, plus my thinking that I would get better faster. But with the
controversies over Synthroid and the others, I wonder if the natural
approach is better.

I did hear of a natural product called 'Thyodine' which is supposed to be
excellent. It also contains a T3/T4 combo. I've read testomonials from
those going from 'Armour' or 'Synthroid' to that and claimed it was great.
Another think I like about the natural approach is that hyper symptoms are
rare while only on that. The only real draw back is that the natural
prodctus take longer to show results. (It can take 3 months for blood
levels to stabelize - when starting it prior to any other thyroid med). It
contains exactly the same ingredients as the one I am on, plus the T3
component, so I really wonder if it might be better for me.
