Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and Hashimoto's thyroiditis both are autoimmune
conditions and can co-occur. My sister has both. Both Hashimoto's and RA
occur heavily in our mother's side of the family. I'm the only family
member to escape RA. RA is a serious systemic condition which requires
medical treatment, hip replacements, etc.

Other autoimmune conditions can co-occur with Hashimoto's such as lupus,
etc.

Does anyone know if there is an increased incidence of rheumatoid
> arthritis and hypothyroid?
