"I think a trip to the endocrinologist is definitely in order."

Just make sure the endocrinologist you go to is highly recommended by
many. I went to one that was recommended to me by a couple people here
in my city back in January, because I didn't have the energy to travel to
one highly recommended to me in a city two hours away. Turns out I
should have MADE myself go to the doctor 2 hours away, the one here told
me on my first visit, "I think you have sleep apnea and depression, not
any sort of hypothyroidism," (sleep apnea and depression are symptoms of
hypothyroidism!!!) ran a couple tests (not even an entire thyroid panel)
and the nurse called me back when the bloodwork came back and said
"Everything turned out normal." Needless to say, I didn't go back to
him. $450 down the drain. The next month I got results from the Broda
Barnes Institute that told me yes, I do have hypothyroidism, also many
other levels (iron, hormones, B12, potassium, magnesium, etc.) were low.
Now I'm on medication and supplements, and feeling better. Not great,
but at least I don't fall asleep when I sit down anymore.

Like Skipper says, finding a good doctor is a challenge.
