Dear Doc Don and Thyroid Folks,

<discussion "leader" hat on>

People, I need all of you to consider the danger that
is presented when anyone on Thyroid creates an
appearance of "practicing medicine" online, please.

Some of ya'll are sending in messages that seem to
cut the rest of the group off from answering, leaving
only one person "allowed" to answer. You only asked
for that >one< person's comments, right? Not good.

You do this by saying ONLY one person's name at the
beginning of your message like "Dear One Person."

While you may be eagerly requesting that one
person should answer you, you are *also*, at the same
time, slighting the rest of us. You're telling the rest of
us that our thoughts and ideas and voices are of no
value to you. You don't want to hear from the rest of us.
This impression is not good. Mucho not good.

Also Important

Another reason for NOT pointing your questions
at one single person (such as Donald Michael),
is that *if* you are conversing with ONLY one person,
YOU are thoughtlessly endangering that person
(such as Donald Michael). You are "setting up" that
one person for false, groundless accusations of
"practicing medicine online."

While it is quite true that NOBODY is discussing anything
like the practice of medicine, especially "standard of
practice" medicine here on Thyroid, it is also true that
those "whose ox is being gored" may wish to impugn
those who are involved here on Thyroid. [If that is too
veiled a reference for you please write to me
<[log in to unmask]> off-line for help.]

Give It a Break, Please?

I'm saying we all must be careful to avoid anything
that creates the appearance of "practicing medicine"
online, if "those of us" in health-related professions are
to prevent/avoid scurrilous, groundless attacks from
closed-minded, small thinking, blindered, corrupt Endos
and the MANY other sold-out supporters of synthetic
hormone "replacement."

Open Discussion

All ideas may be discussed here, by anyone (sold out
or not), as long as they are about thyroid-related issues
and otherwise follow the Thyroid rules, please.

Please begin your messages with MORE THAN one
person's name? This is a group discussion, after all.

Thanks for your attention to this matter. <smile>
