Thyroid Storm does not appear with either hail or rain but rather comes with
its own sudden burst of uncontrolled energy or mania. The person
experiencing it probably would prefer being in a gale to this. The person
shakes, their heart races often at speeds exceeding 110 beats a minute, they
may have elevated blood pressure, talk excessively and be aggressively angry
at everything. A thyroid storm represents a bad case of Manic in the
manic/depression syndrome. Where manic depression is caused by an imbalance
of neurotransmitters, a thyroid storm is caused by an extreme excess of
thyroid hormones. Most people experiencing this have been or will be
diagnosed with Graves Disease (Hyperthyroidism).

Given most physicians unwillingness to give sufficient thyroid medication to
most of their patients, except in the case of those who are acutely adrenal
suppressed, the chances that an overmedicated hypothyroid experiencing such
an episode are minimal.

Short definition Thyroid storm is a hyperthyroid episode where the bodies
metabolism exceeds its carrying capacity resulting in tachycardia, high blood
pressure and physical shaking.
