Multiple endocrine problems arise if there is something causing the pituitary to
secrete stimulating hormones that causes the target glands to secrete their
hormones in excess. A growth in the pituitary (usually benign) pressing out its
juices is known to cause this. The stimulating hormones secreted determines
which area of the pituitary is involved because the anterior and posterior
(hypophysis) section of the pituitary give out different hormones.
