Hi
Pamala wrote...
I have chronic dry eyes that are painfully sensitive to light. My vision
has degraded much...I also have pressure type of pain, and occasionally
stabbing sensations- as if a needle inside is trying to break through...
I have vision problems as well (I'm Hashimotos on .175 mg Synthroid daily).
My eyes reached the point where I needed special glasses for light
intolerance, and I can no longer drive myself into Phoenix or Tucson (big
cities) because I can't judge when to turn. However, I do not have the
pressure/needle pain. This sounds very serious, and insurance or not, you
need to get it checked out as soon as possible. Do you have ACCHSS (sp?
also known as Access) in your state? It's health insurance for people who
have a low income. If you have its equivalanet, you really should consider
signing up for it for now-your state department of health or department of
economic security can tell you more about it. As your condition improves
and you're able to return more to the workplace, you can always go off it.
Whichever way you try, please go see an endo and a vision specialist who is
familiar with thyroid- as well as regular eye pathologies. Pain is awful,
but blindness is worse.
