I read an article in a medical journal that looked at thyroid
supplementation and bone density. If filtered by those participants that
are not overmedicated what they found is that hypothyroid patients who were
originally hyperthyroid had a higher incidence of bone density loss than the
general population. By contrast, those who were hypothyroid (never hyper,
not overmedicated) were comparable to the general population in terms of
bone density loss.
