<< Does anyone think this Parkinson's type shaking of the hands could
be a thyroid related problem? Has anyone had this problem? >>

Hi Angela
I'm 44 and have had this problem for about 15 years. The doctors never could
figure out the source of the shaking. It was so bad at times that I could
not eat properly, forget drinking! I've done a lot of experimentation with
positive results. I'm not an expert, but through trial and error, I believe
the shaking is related to the adrenal glands (which may have developed
problems due to a thyroid condition - I really don't know). In any case,
what helps me most is to, first, stay far far away from any stimulants.
Also, I'll shake sometimes due to a sudden stressful situation. I have
discovered that licorice root helps me dramatically to stop the shaking, or
even to prevent it. I take liquid licorice root, or the capsules, twice
every day. From what I have read, licorice root helps the adrenal glands
function better. Recently I read that copper supports the adrenals, so I
have started (yesterday) on a low dosage copper chelate supplement. If
anybody else has any input or experience, I would also be happy to hear about
it. The good news is that I am so much better! So, there is hope for
improvement for your brother!! Btw, I am also overweight and used to have a
chronic fatigue problem. My weight situation seems to be improving...at
least I stopped gaining.

I am also treating my thyroid even though the thyroid panel test was
"normal". I'm taking organic iodine and yesterday starting taking low dosage
Bio-Thyroid (pharmaceutical grade).
