If you are low on thyroid, you get edema. Someone puts you on estrogen,
testosterone, cortisol, and you get more edema. You get the thyroid fixed,
and the edema goes away.
A LOT of people have healthy levels of testosterone (and/estrogen, cortisol
and others) with no edema due to enough thyroid hormones.
