Hello,
I received several responses to my post about whether or not Hungry Jack
potato casseroles are gluten free. Following are the answers that I received
- the first response listed here is the answer from the company. I tried the
Au Gratin last weekend but had a horrible reaction - admittedly, though, it
could have been a reaction to something else that I was inadvertantly eating
- has anyone who eats the Hungry Jack casseroles had any ill effects
specifically linked to either the Sour Cream & Chives or the Scalloped?
Those are the two remaining boxes that I have. I'm hesitant to try the Au
Gratin again due to the severity of the reaction last weekend - even though
that might not have been the cause, my brain is making that connection and I
could never enjoy them again. And too bad because they were goooood!
Many thanks to all who responded!
Deb

Thank you for taking the time to contact us.
Since ingredients can change frequently, we are concerned about communicating
incorrect information by providing lists of our products that contain
potential allergens. All sources of gluten such as wheat, buckwheat, rye,
malt, barley, and oats are declared on our product labels if they are used as
a part of the product ingredients. This includes gluten such as wheat,
buckwheat, rye, malt, barley, and oats that is present as part of another
ingredient, such as "natural or artificial
flavors," "natural or artificial colors," or "spices." We recommend that you
check the ingredient list on the package each time you make a purchase for
the most accurate source of information. We want you also to be aware that
our company uses shared equipment when producing our products.
We appreciate your interest and hope you will continue to use and enjoy our
products.
Sincerely,

I know that the regular one ( I think it's called something like chessey
cheddar?) is GF. We use it all the time - although I must admit, I haven't
called the company lately.

For the Hungry Jack potato casseroles, I would suggest you to go to this
other exellent site: http://forums.delphiforums.com/celiac/messages
There are good and knowledgeable people there to answer your questions, and
Abigail's gf food, product and medication list.
Moreover, I have voluntarily posted thousands of GF recipes.
