Hi all:

I'm looking for solid clinical research on low-vision versus total
blindness (social, economic and personal independence - employment -
psychological impact, etc.).  I'm also looking for recent statistical
data showing ratios of legal-blindness vs. total blindness in the U.S.

In a nutshell, I'm looking for any and all reliable data that would
suggest that an individual with usable vision (yet legally blind) faces
more social challenge and finds it more difficult to see themselves as
being "meaningfully employed" - as opposed to one who is totally blind.

Any good sources, links, suggestions for this type of research, please
email me directly (or post to list if you feel it may be useful)
