Who really knows what to believe since conflicting data abounds? I do
accept that half of all people who have heart attacks don't have high
cholesterol.

My mother at age 53 died of a heart attack in 1974. High cholesterol and
angina were diagnosed in 1970, and she was put on the low cholesterol diet
that at that time was believed to be good. I have a bitter laugh when I
think of some of the Eat/Don't Eat foods on that list. By 1972 she felt
worse than ever and a heart cath showed 70% and 90% blockage in two areas.

At 48, I'm my mother's daughter in some respects I'd rather not be. I would
not care for the final chapter of the family history to be written a too
soon.
