In my previous post, I tried to point out that what works for each of us
varies from person to person. This is true of how we approach the diet as
well as what we actually eat. You seem to be very concerned about getting
the details right, which is admirable. On the other hand, one of the
reasons why I find the paleo diet attractive is because it offers simple
rules of thumb.

I spent one whole Sunday a couple of months ago reading about calcium and
acid balance and by the end of it I was more confused than ever. Since then
I've decided I can't be bothered to worry about it any more: the reward is
simply not proportionate to the effort. But I certainly don't think I have
the one true way, nor do I think I'm "shutting out" other info. - one of
the reasons I'm on the list is because I'm interested in people's
experiences of the diet, and I have learned a lot since I've been here. But
it's in the nature of the list that it tends to be about the detailed
stuff, and so I find it helpful to stand back and look at the big picture
occasionally.

There's a thin line between making suggestions and "telling you what to
do". I think everyone who replied to your post was trying to help.
