I really suggest that you read Neanderthin by Ray Audette (one of the
"gurus" of paleo eating), he is also diabetic, and the book touches on
this in several places. The advice for diabetics as I know it is not
surprising, avoid carbohydrates and get most of your energy from fats
and protein. I am no doctor of course, and your knowledge of diabetes
must far exceed mine, but the usual precautions...don't change your
diet without consulting your personal doc about insulin dosage...you
know the rap. There are several diabetics on this list I believe. Give
full details and someone will help. This list is pretty congenial.
Most people who try paleo regularize their weight, down for the
heavies and up for the skinnies. It is pretty much automatic if you
follow the diet.
