Congrats Mr President-elect!
It's been a vigorously fought battle and apparently, the Gambian
electorate have decided to give you another shot at the Presidency. Bravo!
The campaign has also been pretty successful in some respects because of the
gravity of tensions leading up to the elections and the relatively low
violence that actually took place. There is no loser here.
The same goes out to Ousainou Darboe, Hamat Bah, Sidia Jaata, S.M.
Dibba and the respective parties they represent. These are true Gambians for
they're are ensuring that the executive is in check so as to minimize the
abuse of office as well as other executive privileges. I hope the President
looks at these folks that way and not view them as his arch enemies. I also
pray that the APRC do not go about executing the threats they made against
the Oppposition and its sympathizers in the name of moving on and being
representative of all Gambians regardless of party affiliation.
On a final note, I wholeheartedly want to congratulate you once more,
out of respect for the decision of the majority of the august Gambian
electorate. Good luck in your quest to build a better Gambia for all
Gambians.
All the best.
Ousainou Malick Ngum
