I'm with Brent and the majority on this one. I like the open, uncensored feel
to this list. I know I don't post much, but I read often and get a lot more
out of this list than I can put into words. Personally I was happy when (was
it Linda?) started the discussion- I mean the original one about sex, not the
subsequent one about whether or not we should talk about it! As a young CP-er,
this is a very big and real issue in my life, and the fact that there were some
older, experienced CPers who mights share their ideas and experiences gave me
some hope and encouragement. Also, I want to comment on this "We have to protect
the children" thread. Protect them from what, exactly? Is there anything wrong
with sex? It's not as though we're talking about exploitation, paedophilia,
violence or anything else dangerous and abusive. We are talking about a natural,
enjoyable, healthy part of life, and I'd much rather children read about our
need to respect our partners, our limitations, our desires and fears etc than
read some of the horrific stuff that is out there on the net. I'm not advocating
actively seeking out children to read this! I'm just saying that if I had children
who I wanted to "protect", I would probably throw out the television and sensationalised
tabloid press before I hid away my experiences of sex.......
cheers,
emma
