Henry Wilhelm's 1993 "Permanence and Care of Color Photographs" is still the
standard work on photo storage. The book contains many examples of
in-building vaults, although it focuses on operation, rather than design and
construction. Myself, I just bought a $2300 freezer for my 45,000 4"x5" film
negatives from 1936-1972. Good for ice cream, too.
