As I walked through the yard at school today I noticed a group of students
carving their version of gargoyles. They have some sort of soft stone, I'd
guess soapstone, and the art teacher has them busily carving up a storm.
This year's theme has been medieval. I about 2 weeks they will set up
their medieval village and their houses will be appraised and the winner
announced. It's a fascinating program called "Village."
Just an example of the exciting doings up here in the hinterlands.
