The Torah is still copied by hand.  Any mistake is corrected by removing the entire page (a parchment sheet about 2' x 2') and relettering it all over again.  Theoretically.

Then there's the reason why Jews were believed to have horns:  the Hebrew word that described light coming from from Moses' head was translated as "horns."
