hello everyone

thank you all for responses..many took alot of time and effort..i
appreciate that ALOT WELL...i didnt expect responses but HOLY whatever -
did i get them! apparently there were others just as confused as i..and
sorry to say the repsonses ive gotten have NOT cleared anything up in
any sense...there were way too many to post-it would go on for pages and
pages ..and alot of the info has already been exchanged in the 'pre-
summary' debate that has been going on i will try and make this short
and sweet by giving a general summary on the responses

many people said flat out that oats contain gluten.period. dont eat them
others said flat out oats do NOT contain gluten and are safe some said
they are safe if they are not cross contaminated.... some said cross
contamination was unavoidable.. some said they do not contain the same
'kind' of gluten as wheat barley and rye many gave very good clinical
facts and others opinions of both views some said they eat oats with NO
problem and other said they have tried and gotten ill

nothing really 'new' here from what the discussions have been so far...
i would think that each of us would have to use our own judgement-and
determine what we are each willing to risk with this.. one respondent
said..'i sure would like an oatmeal cookie' and i totally agree but i
personally am going to stay away from them..

to all who responded i thank you once again for the lenghty and detailed
letters-they were wonderful and i appreciate the time you took..you are
