Hello Y'all,
First of all, thanks for all the great suggestions about the funny noise coming from my PC.
Now, for something completely different. A month ago, I installed a software update from Microsoft, I think. I do not know which one it was. I often have trouble reading about my updates, even with the JAWS cursor.
When I did this, JAWS quit reading my e-mail. It read my inbox list and Word documents, but not the contents of my e-mails.
So, I then downloaded JAWS 6.0 all by myself. I even installed it too!:) The next day, I had to call FS for my twenty digit code, which they gladly provided. Boom, I was rockin again!
I then did a merge utilities from JAWS 5.0. Did I get the full benefit of 6.0 from doing this? I wanted to preserve my dictionary entries, yet get all the latest features of JAWS 6.0. Did I do this right?
My main reason for writing this follows.
I can no longer hit the delete button in a message to move on to the next message. I have to use control D. Is there a better way? I am using Outlook Express.
Also, when I open a new message, JAWS begins reading whatever link is in the message. I am not asking for this. I just want it to start at the first line. Is this too much to ask?
Another problem, is sometimes if I hit an arrow key, It will open a link I did not even ask for. Yet, if I hit enter on a link, it will not open any longer. I have to select the link, then manually insert it into my run box.
Is this progress?
I am not very happy with all these inconveniences. Can't the stupid computer get better without downgrading previous advances?
Thanks for any enlightenment.
