posting from Windsor Maine;
Steve Hoad
Hi!
The importance of this announcement and its wide proliferation is that, for
the past number of years, Apple has been totally noncompliant with 508
and/or 504 standards. They are unable to get government contracts,
(supposedly), and their existence in the educational market is under fire.
I have seen the announcement of potential Beta tests of this system but have
not seen any results. We don't even know if it even works yet.
Its great if it does, including access in the technology will stop some of
the buck passing by software vendors as in, "Well, that's a problem with
your screen reader. Our software is working for everybody else," and it
will also make it easier for anyone to have a computer on their desk that
can be operated by all persons.
I just hope we see a release before June of 05!
