Everett, check out the National Institute of Disability and Rehabilitation
sponsored AbleData web site <http://www.abledata.com/> which has a fully
searchable database of over 29,000 assistive technology devices.

For a separate listing of devices and other resources for the blind and
visually impaired, try their Blindness and Low Vision Resource Center
<http://www.abledata.com/Site_2/blind&.htm#Products>. In addition to the
separate list of assistive devices, this page contains links to many other
resources for the blind and visually impaired such as web sites,
publications, conferences, and product evaluations.

Subject: Listings of Assistive Tech f/t Blind?

Hi All,

Does anyone know of a general list where there is listed all, or a majority
of, assistive tech for the blind? Anything from software, to notebooks, to
CCTV's and stand-alone readers, etc. I'm looking for short
lists/cheat-sheet type lists, of equipment for the blind. Anyone know of
any out there?

Online directories would be great, but even a list of named equipment
without the manufacturer or sellers link is fine. I'm just trying to get a
round-up of all possible equipment available to the blind. Please reply
offlist, to me at the e-mail address in my Sig line below. Thanks!

Thanks Again,
Everett
