Thanks, Richard.  It's nice to have someone to talk to about this
stuff.  When I was on Atkins, my family wasn't very supportive.

I was also wondering about maple syrup, though.  I know honey is considered
paleo, but I haven't heard anything about pure, unprocessed maple
syrup.  It sounds paleo to me.  I was thinking about trying to wean myself
off sugar gradually, by substituting healthier sugars like honey, maple
syrup, fruits and fruit juices.  I know I probably won't lose as much
weight right away, but it's got to be better than all the crap I'm putting
in my body right now.
