Scientists found a new species of whale right on the beach in
California! It is a wonderful world out there. Last year they found a
new elephant too. Purely amazing how much is still left out there just
to see (and contemplate eating).

By the way, I ate whale once, more or less by accident, not being able
to read Japanese well. I saw something labled kujira steak on the menu
and ordered it because it was cheap. I saw the cook slap a HUGE square
slab of dark red meat onto the grill, and started asking what it was.
Once I found out I went ahead and ate it, a shame to kill a whole hale
and not eat it I thought, but I was more careful in the future.
