That was written very early in my own difficulties and resulting
investigations of bone health. The Rude et al. study, and Cooke & Holmes
textbook both indicated that magnesium supplementation alone benefited some
individuals who are gluten sensitive.  It was not until later, when I had
learned more, that I began to take the some of the other steps mentioned.

Frankly, I haven't had bone density testing since the first two tests. I
believe that my bone density has continued to improve because I have gained
weight but my old clothes still fit me, and because I lead a fairly active
life, yet I have not had any more problems with spontaneous fractures. I do
not, however, have any objective test results to support by belief.

I continue to take very large doses of vitamin D (but that is partly due to
the latitude at which I live, and because I work inside all day getting
little exposure to sunlight). I also supplement calcium, although at a much
lower level than magnesium.
