I am 5'10" and 226 pounds. I am active in that I walk 3 3/4 miles in 1 hour
per day and I do a little upper body work. If I get into very active
exercise my bood sugar gets low and I have to eat something sweet at that
time. But that doesn't happen very often.
I have trained my body to use fat for energy so when my calorie intake is
low my body just lives off its stored fat.
I also spent some time learning to pay attention to my hunger signals and
satiation signals. I did this by eating one food per meal with no spices or
sauces. I found that the food taste changed or I became bored with it as I
got full.
I also don't allow myself to eat anything unless I was going to eat a meal
and I was very hungry.
I have eaten this way since March, 2000 except for a two month wheat binge
where I gained 50 pounds. The binge showed me that I have a very strong
addictive allergy to wheat and that prompted me to go to Overeaters
Anonymous to help protect me from my permissive thinking.
