Howard,
The 2.5 signal, though I have a fair amount of line noise on that frequency,
is not readable during day time hours on my ham rig and outside antennas or
my sony receiver. It is just too weak. The actual transmitter and antennas
are a good 50 to 55 miles from me and the way the bands have been for the
last few months, I can hear the 5.0 frequency during the day a little bit
but the 10.0 frequency is often better. I guess we are just in their dead
zone during much of the day. I am not saying I cannot hear them during the
day but their signals are too weak to hear what they are saying. Once the
sun goes down, 5.0 is generally very strong at night. Oh for those olden
days when wwv used to send the time in cw.
Phil.
