Hi, thanks for the article.  I had IBS many yrs. ago when working for a
large computer company in a stressful job...accompanied by caffeine in
coffee and sugar in just about anything.

When I stopped coffee and sugar, the IBS totally resolved and I haven't had
any symptoms for years.  Perhaps I am the exception to the rule.  Or, more
likely, the sugar was feeding the gut bacteria that either caused or
exacerbated the problem.
