Hey I spotted this on feedroom.com ( http://www.feedroom.com
<http://www.feedroom.com/> ). It’s a broadband news web site (read: you need
DSL or cable-modem or forget trying to view it). Can anybody check this
recipe for me and see if it carries the potential to make my belly explode
in gluten-mediated agony? I just want it to explode from being too full from
delicious BBQ sauce flavored chicken or ribs, not from the bad kind of
exploding. TIA
Full-Flavored Merlot BBQ Sauce
For Chicken, Ribs or Steaks
NBC4.TV
LOS ANGELES
Makes about 3 cups
Ingredients:
1 tbsp. butter
3/4 c. minced onion
1 tsp. minced garlic
1 1/2 c. Columbia Crest Grand Estates Merlot
1/4 c. cider vinegar
1/4 c. honey
1/2 c. molasses
1/2 c. tomato paste
3/4 tsp. chipotle powder
1/8 tsp. ground fennel seed
1 tbsp. kosher salt
1 tsp. black pepper
If you can't find pure chipotle powder (dried and ground chipotle chiles),
you can substitute canned, pureed chipotle chile.
Instructions:
Heat the butter over medium-high heat in a heavy saucepan. Add the onion and
garlic and saute until they start to brown a little. Add the Columbia Crest
Grand Estates Merlot, bring to a boil, stir, and turn the heat to medium.
Add the remaining ingredients and simmer 5 minutes. Remove from the heat.
