Hi Folks: To summarize autolyzed yeast extract as to if it is gluten free:

2 people said it is just another word for monosodium glutimate and
they have reactions to it.

One said if you have a yeast intolerance or mold allergy avoid
anything with yeast in it. Yeast intolerance usually includes
baker's yeast and brewer's yeast.

One said they had a reaction to GF yeast and extracts as well as gluten.

One said if it's not on the Celiac Assoc. approved good list they don't eat it.

One makes their own chicken broth and freezes it in ice cube trays.

One said it depends on the substrate the yeast is grown on.

Thank you for your information. I am avoiding autolyzed yeast
extract. Bernice in Richmond Hts., Ohio
