In response to my inquiry about gluten-free cooking classes in New
York City I received a few suggestions of possible places that might
have classes (the New School's culinary program and the Natural
Gourmet School) and several responses from people who were
interested in GF cooking classes. It appears that at the moment there
are no GF classes in NYC, but the Natural Gourmet School did have a
GF baking class in the fall and I was told they will most likely have
another one this spring (the spring calendar comes out in 5-6 weeks).
If you want to take a look at their site, it's
www.naturalgourmetschool.com. Both the New School and the
Natural Gourmet School (especially) seemed to have classes that
could be adapted to GF eating. In my search on the internet I came
across a woman in Indiana that has a GFcooking class/consultation
business at www.glutenevolution.com, so if you happen to be in that
area, it might be an option. If anyone hears about classes in the NYC
area in the future, please post them on the listserv as there seems to
be a significant number of people who would be interested in them!
While I have your attention, does anyone know of a good naturopathic
doctor or an MD that has some knowledge of Celiac? I made an
appointment with Dr. Peter Green, who I hear is a specialist in CD, but
he's booked till May! Thanks!
