I saw some earlier posts but did not pay full attention. Here is some
input. Use ipconfig or winipcfg to display your network settings on both
computers to ensure that their settings are compatible.

The NET command is a very useful tool that many overlook. Use the NET
VIEW command to see if any computers are may be sharing files on the
network. NET VIEW \\ipaddress or NET VIEW \\computername will show a
listing of shared resources available on a particular computer. NET USE
j: \\computername\drive will connect you computer to that resource and
make it appear as drive j: on your computer (you may use any available
free drive letter instead of j:).

Map Network Drive produces error message, "The computer or sharename
could not be found. Make sure you typed it correctly, and try again".

Do not see two computers on either Network Neighborhood. See below.
Network Neighborhoods show shared files. Do not understand "NET USE"
command. Network configurations are identical, as below.
