Hi Thanks for all the info
I tried a few combinations of the advice given, and finnaly got it all
working ok.
For your info this is what I did.
I removed one of the 512 meg ram sticks
safe booted & installed the older version of nVidia reference driver, version
21.83.
That managed to boot properly and configue graphics card ok.
I then inserted the 2 lines MinFileCache=51200 & MaxFileCache=56320 into
system.ini under vcache heading.
Again rebooted all seemed ok
Replaced the ram
Rebooted and all seems well
