Well, not to bust on PNY too much, but we always had problems with end users
installing it in many of the Micron systems, especially the Millennias that
used Micronics M54Hi motherboards. Micron's tests showed that in most
cases, the memory just wasn't up to the standards that we expected. The
memory seems to have problems on higher performance systems...I think that
Dell also recommends against PNY memory.

If you can talk PNY or the retailer that sold you the memory to give you a
refund, I'd take it and buy memory from Kingston or Crucial (Micron
Technology owns Crucial). You can count on that memory being manufactured
to very tight tolerances. Both companies offer lifetime warranties. For
what it's worth, I have never had a problem with any memory product from
Micron or Crucial in the three years that I've been buying and building
computers.
