Whilst we're all on the topic ...

... a childhood relic sits on top of the monitor as I
type this, discovered a couple of years ago whilst
helping my mother pack up before moving house ... a
small (<2" high) plastic model of Zoot ... my
favourite Muppet ... not just because I played alto
sax whilst at high school (or did I learn sax 'cos I
liked Zoot - not sure now) ... more because of the
irrevent way he contributed to the music-making ...

... and speaking of music ... my favourite road music
- and concentrating music when trying to get a report
done at the last minute - would have to be that of New
York's very own Philip Glass ... and has been ever
since I heard he and his ensemble perform live at the
Adelaide Festival of Arts in 1986 ...

... curious thing about that is that in the course of
doing research into failures of glass in buildings, I
discovered that one of the other forensic specialists
who has also done extensive work on failures of glass
in buildings is also a great fan of the music of
Philip Glass ...

cheers

david
