Wouldn't the speed be governed by what settings are on the clients /
servers e.g if the network cards are set for 10mbps or 100mbps? Rather
than setting the speeds on the switch

Subject: [PCBUILD] network Switch Recommendations?
I am looking on connecting 5 computers together through a switch. I
would
like to set two computers at 100mbs and the other 3 at 10mbs. I want
one of
the 10mbs machines to be able to read all servers.. There will be two
microsoft servers on the network. I want this machine to be able to
download the data for backup each night.
What kind of Switch would you recommend? I only need 5 ports, but I
want
the other 3 for redundancy and expansion.
Can anyone recommend a 10/100 Switch that will allow me to lock several
ports at 100mbs?
Thanks,
Larry Peterson
