In my opinion that is simply an attempt to make the diet politically
correct. On Ashton Embry's site he edited the Roger MacDougall story. So we
don't really know just what diet he used in the 50's.

As for Swank, his success rate was just so-so. Since he had them giving up
dairy, I think that what success he got was due to this.
