This is my 1st time writing to the list.

I would like to know if anyone has had problems with there iron stores
after going on a gluten free diet.

My story, I have had problems with low iron stores since about 11years
old, I eat allot of red meat etc and do not have any other obvious
causes. This problem with low iron lead to the diagnoses of coeliac
disease by biopsies 3yrs 4 months ago.

I had no follow up biopsie or blood test until April this yr =low iron
again. so I had a second biopsies to check my villi and diet ?truly
gluten free.Yes every thing o.k. I had been taking Iron supplements for
3 months and my levels improved,so Dr said to stop Iron supplements for
3 months and retest levels again. Iron level is going down again. I
would appreciate any thoughts.Thank you in advance Nicole
